You landed here today because you want to monetize your website (blog).
In this article, we are going to focus on just that.
Some start a blog in order to share their story, passion or ideas however, later I think most everyone ends up becoming interested on how to monetize it all. So let's dive in.
Most times it takes up to 3 to 6 months for a blog or website to naturally rank and for it to make money however, when you begin to monetize your site it can speed things up a bit faster.
Here are 10 ways you can begin to monetize your content around the internet and begin creating streams of income.
Add stats on your traffic, subscribers, social media followers, etc to your website to show that you have a high volume active audience to promote to. Then offer advertising options such as no-follow text link ads, banner ads, sponsored social media posts, sponsored reviews and more.
If your website is mostly informational in nature, Adsense can help you generate some extra cash.
On the flip side, if you are promoting your own products or high commission affiliate products, consider remove adsense ads from the site. You’ll most likely earn more through affiliate sales than through Adsense.
Promote things you have personally used and liked. Make sure the items you are promoting are relevant to the content your visitors are reading.
If you use WordPress, there are plugins to help you display certain products based on the content of the page that is being viewed. Add links to your audios, videos, slide shows, social media posts, website content, emails, etc.
Beyond simple advertising or Adsense you can add content links from third party networks such as Outbrain and Tabloola. These content text links would be displayed beneath your post content.
You’ve probably seen these on other sites such as the Huffington Post where you read the news article then see a section or two below it showing “From around the World” or “You May Also Like” where it links to other stories.
Make sure each piece of content you post has a call to action at the end. This can be a promotion for your product or service. It might be a link to an affiliate product or perhaps a link to continue reading part 2 of the article – which then has a promo for something to buy.
While you won’t earn cash immediately, getting people on your mailing list is vital.
By signing up, they show they are interested in what you have to say and they give you permission to contact them again. Once you have them on your mailing list you can offer valuable content to them time and again.
Have an expertise? Write about it! In addition, watch your traffic stats. If you see certain posts getting a high volume of incoming links and views, consider turning that information into an ebook that you can sell on Amazon and other places.
Take your favorite affiliate products and create reviews and how-tos for them. Walk viewers through using the product, tell them what you like and dislike and of course, add your affiliate link so they can purchase the product directly from your video review.
Any time you have posts, videos or audio recordings that get a lot of viewer comments, questions and traffic, you can capitalize on these by turning them into more in-depth courses that you can sell.
Turn blog posts into videos, slide shows, podcasts and reports.
Turn your podcast series into a report or ebook or even new blog posts. Add transcripts of podcasts along with a few worksheets, cheat sheets or other material and create an entirely new packaged product out of one podcast.
The same goes with videos. You can turn them into audios for podcasts by stripping the audio from the video. You can also turn the information into reports or ebooks or bundle a series of videos together and make a full course out of them.
