Find a dose of inspiration in the stories of today’s guest!
On this episode of the Stand Out Be You Podcast, Tequila Dodard is joined by Virginia Phillips, an author, speaker, coach, and community advocate who is pretty much perseverance personified.
After surviving a severe car crash and the grueling rehabilitation that followed, Virginia was forced to leave her dream job in the corporate world, learning how to be a survivor in life and completely reshaping her own identity. Her story of chasing challenges and simply cherishing her new freedom to choose is definitely worth a listen.
I know every single day, I’m living on borrowed time, and I know I that come away from those experiences believing that my life is not finished. And I see other people, because they don’t have those experiences, just going through the paces of life. And they get to this certain age and they go, ‘I still haven’t done what I wanted to do.
At one point, Virginia says, she felt like her life had fallen apart. Her plans for her corporate career had crumbled, and she didn’t know what move to make next.
In many ways, though, this turned out to be a blessing. Virginia’s life has not been without its challenges, and in today’s podcast, she speaks at length about overcoming some of these obstacles in order to secure her own version of success, and about how to plan life after corporate America. With experiences like these, as well as years spent coaching, writing, and speaking, Virginia has a lot of wisdom to share for any of us—especially if you’re on a similar journey to learn how to be a survivor in life.
In this episode, Virginia shows that it’s possible for any of us to restructure our lives to secure the goals we’re fighting for.
